All Campers are asked to play their part in keeping the field safe, happy and healthy for us all by following these guidelines which arise from the ethos of our Camp.
When you book a ticket at Dancing Hearts Community Camp you are agreeing to become a member of the Dancing Hearts Camp Community for the camp. Arrive and depart according to our policy - Unless agreed with the Admin Coordinator, there are no arrivals before 12noon on Friday and departure must be by sunset on the final day.
Do your best to stay for the whole of the Camp. As we camp in circles, we naturally build mutual trust and friendship with one another creating a safe space to relax. To limit disruption and support a process of heart connection, we do expect adults to stay for the duration of the Camp. If children need to be picked up by another parental figure, this of course is supported. Please let the community know in advance so we can support a smooth transition for them.
Visitors: As part of building this precious trust and friendship between each other we don't allow visitors, and the gate closes to new arrivals on the Saturday. If you have a visitor coming to see you during the week (such as a partner bringing or collecting children) please arrange to meet them at the gate and let the gate crew know when they are coming. They will not be allowed on site. The exception to this is the open session, where we encourage the curious to join us on the field for a few hours during camp. Visitors can join in what ever activities are running and get a taste for camp life!
Dogs Free Zone: Dogs can be wonderful loving creatures, but they love seeking out food (which is easily accessible on the Camp field) and they leave unhygienic deposits.
Mobile phones: We are doing our best to switch off technology and media. We realise that many folk take photos with their phones and if this is the case please remember to avoid other people ' appearing' in your snaps without their permission. Also, please turn your phone onto airplane or do not disturb so that you do not disturb others and are not tempted to scroll! If you need to use your phone, please make the call in the car parking area or off the site so it doesn’t disturb others. Camp is a wonderful opportunity to get away from the demands of instant electronic communication. We do not provide facilities for re-charging mobile phones on site.
Amplified Music Free Space – We only play naturally resonating music during the camp, so please do not play electronic music devices etc. Keep in touch with your kids - You remain responsible for your children and teenagers throughout the Camp, even when you can’t see them.
Alcohol or Drugs Free Space – The camp helps us to get closer to our authentic selves and create deeper heart connections with others. By omitting the use of Alcohol or Drugs we are enabled to be more closely in touch will all of our feelings and as such can then process experiences more easily. We ask parents and carers to be very clear that their young people understand this as well.
Quiet times: after 11pm and before 7am - We ask everyone for late night noise sensitivity so that people can sleep. Tents are not sound proofed!
Adhering to the guidelines above makes for a wonderful camp for all. Team Dancing Heart reserve the right to ask any person who feels they can not manage these requests to leave the camp early, without refund of ticket.
